The John Bull Inn, Alnwick

A hidden gem in the historical town of Alnwick, Northumberland, The John Bull Inn (or "The Bull" to locals) is tucked away between a row of houses on Howick Street and has been since their construction back in the early 1830s. Records show the building as having become a beer house shortly after construction and so it has remained until the present day. Today this ‘back street boozer’ is developing an ever increasing reputation for offering a warm welcome to anyone wishing to sample Real Ales, Whiskies or Belgian Beers.

We took over ownership of the pub in November 2018, and with nothing more than a lick of paint, the pub retains it's charm and cosy atmosphere. In the summer months, there is a small beer garden to be enjoyed out back.
