New England meets Old England

Earlier this month our friends from Airline Brewing Company (Maine, USA) visited the brewery. The idea of the visit was to share expertise on both sides, including carbonation levels and head retention, as well as to brew up a collaboration ale as part of Hadrian Border's 25 year anniversary celebrations.

Airline Brewing Company brewer Casey joined our team of brewers and produced the 'New England IPA', a 5.5% straw coloured IPA using Maris Otter, Wheat Malt and Simcoe & Amarillo Hops. The brew is a perfect blend of American and British brewing techniques and flavours, available in the local area for a limited period in both cask and bottle.

In a few weeks we'll be making our own trip across the Atlantic to visit the ABC brewery, where we'll brew up one of our own beers for the locals to enjoy.

Hadrian Border Brewery has been producing beer at its best since 1994. With over 25 years of experience and knowledge in brewing, Hadrian Border now operates from its SALSA accredited 40 barrel plant in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and is known all over the North-East for its fine ales including – Tyneside Blonde, Farne Island, Grainger Ale and Ouseburn Porter.
