Apprentice Brewer

​This apprenticeship will give you a level 4 qualification in brewing provided by HIT training. 

What you will learn
The brewing process from start to finish, this includes brewing, fermentation, conditioning, and packaging of cask, keg and can products.
You will learn every aspect of beer production management and supply, from cask washing to customer service. 
You will help develop new recipes and brew existing recipes to a high standard following company policy. 
You will learn to work as part of a team liasing with the sales and marketing staff on new specials coming out, as well as our cellarman and drivers to coordinate transfers and stock levels.
You will learn how to keep records in accordance with H.M. Customs and excise, and record keeping following SALSA standards, our current preferred auditor.

Your requirements
5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above / 2 A levels at grade D or above
An interest in science and the brewing industry
Ability to regularly lift items weighing up to 25kg. Reasonable adjustments can be discussed if required.
UK full driving license preferred

We are an independent family run company with a friendly and outgoing team. Established in 1994, we are well known in the local area, specialising in cask and traditional ales but with a growing craft and keg offering.

About our team
Our team of 10 are an excellent presence in our company with longevity and staff retention being a particular point of pride.
The team has a liking for tinned fish and microwaveable rice.

Salary
First year, £18,000
Second year salary will be age dependent and performance based
