Things are not as they may appear with this dark beer...
Behind its black cloak lies a refreshing IPA using Citra, Simcoe, Centennial and Chinook hops that work together to bring the flavours we expect in a modern IPA, with citrus and fruity notes upfront. There is a slightly roasted malt profile on the palate which is balanced well with the flavours from the hops, a common feature of this beer style.
Black IPAs are a fairly modern style, originating from the 1990s American craft beer revolution. They're not often seen so if you are yet to try one, make it this one!
